Help needed with hedge

The hedge down the side of the paddock we were asked to plant is doing well, but as you can see so are the weeds and grass.
If you have some time to spare - even an hour, can you please help us remove the growth from around the 100 hedge plants as I’ve done here so they don’t choke. We can’t use a strimmer, so I’ve pulled out what weeds I can and used garden scissors to cut as close to the soil as possible. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
