W/C 30th January’s News

We have had 2 news dogs come in. Ben ( Band of Honour), see photo above, is a big white and black boy who has been reserved already. Ben settled in almost immediatley and is a very loving happy dog who likes to play. He went into the vets on Friday and was neutered aswell as a check up, he had to have a wart removed off his side which was done. He bounced back the following day and has made a great recovery.

Wilma ( That I Will), is a small black female, only 27kg arrived on Sunday. Wilma is a pretty little thing and has settled in well so far, she will be going to the vets for a spay and health check soon. We will get some feedback off volunteers of how she is out and about and will no doubt be pub tested by Stuart and George!

Diane (Dianas double) has been spayed and checked over and has been reserved, she will be going to her new home when the garden has been made a little bit more secure for her.

Dream (Xmas Dreamer) was homed on Tuesday with Major Rainbow and sounds to be enjoying her new home.

We had a pallet of Gain delivered this week. A new company has taken over producing the Gain Greyhound food, and will be changing the name of the food to Time Greyhound 20 instead of Gain Greyhound 20. The food is exactly the same, as is the packaging. As always we have it available to buy here from us if anyone wishes to. This is the food we use with all our greyhounds.

Volunteers visited and walked dogs and helped out with maintenance.

Penny has taken another trip to the pub where she has seen more dogs, still under the table (her safe haven) but this is increasing her every growing confidence to be able to feel safe in a busy environment, watching the world go by.

Charlie (Unkind Hands) was taken out again this week, it has been decided that due to his anxieties of seeing other dogs, he will need a home where he only has 1 walk a day, ideally a quiet time of day where he wont see other dogs, but with a secure garden to play in the rest of the time. Alternatively Charlie will need a really confident home with experience of Greyhounds, to work with him. Charlie will walk well on a lead but after having multiple assessments, it is too stressful for him when he sees other breeds. Charlie is perfect in the house, fully house trained and a real happy loving boy.
