Victor

Victor (Ballyhale Vic) was 5 years old 3 days ago. It is with much sadness that this afternoon at 14:20 hours while at the vets he passed away.
Victor arrived here on the 20th March 2020 just as the coronavirus lock down was about the start. We homed him to a family on the 24th June 2020, and went to live with a couple and their two young children, one being about 6 weeks old at the time Victor was so gentle and just perfect with them. Nessy (Jumeirah Lioness) went to live with them on the 3rd January 2021 but both dogs were returned on the 22nd September 2021 due to a change in family circumstances, and we were looking for a new home for them both, but struggled to find them one together.
Victor went a bit quiet after Nessie went to her new home on the 17th October 2021, but picked up again with Anna (Leos Indiana) arrived. Last weekend he went off his food and we thought him not himself. On Monday his stools didn’t look right and he was sick. We took him to the vets the following day and they did an ultra sound. The vet thought they saw a tumour on his spleen and suggested if it was just the one and everything else was okay they would remove his spleen and he should be okay. He stayed in the vets overnight on a drip and today they operated. When they opened him up his abdomen was full of tumours and there was blood everywhere. There was nothing they could do, so while he was still asleep on the operating table they helped him cross rainbow bridge at 14:20 hours.
Its a very sad and subdued house here tonight because we were optimistic we would be bringing him home this evening. Victor was a super lad and was loved by everyone he met. We even had a family showing interest in him when he became ill and things were put on hold till he was well again, but that wasn’t to be. Rest in peace our darling Victor, you may be gone, but you will NEVER be forgotten. xx
