Underley Garden School talk

RGSL were invited to do a talk about Greyhounds to the children at Underley Garden school. On Wednesday 9th March, Jenny and Helen took 3 dogs ( Thor, Nancy and Alex) along to the event. We were welcomed by an audience of around 30 children and staff. We talked a little about the history of the breed and about the journey of the dogs from racetrack to sofa. We also talked about what we do at RGSL, the process of how a dog gets ready to be homed and the roles of our volunteers. The children particularly enjoyed meeting the dogs, stroking them and asking lots of questions about them. The dogs did us proud and enjoyed all the attention. We look forward to the ongoing visits from Underley Garden to the branch and for the children as part of their alternative curriculum to learn about the care of our dogs.
