Sunday’s Walk

Sunday’s walk will set off at 11 am from the Hawkshead car park on Main Street, Hawkshead - Postcode: LA22 0NT  Please see parking below.

The group walk will be approximately 2km (1.2 miles).  It’s a circular route behind Black Beck Lodge and the terrain is mostly flat on sandy / gravel paths, with a short section on grass.

The meeting point is the Lake District National Park (LDNP) car park with automatic number plate recognition cameras. Please ensure you have bought a ticket to cover the duration of your visit.
£3 for 2 hours, £4.20 for 3 hours, £5.40 for 4 hours

 Alternative parking is available at Hawkshead Primary School - £3 for 2 hours or £5 for all day. Payable with cash via honesty box.

 There are toilets on site and these are run by LDNP with a 50p entrance fee payable by contactless card or cash.

Our walk coincides with Remembrance Sunday so as a mark of respect we will be holding a 1 minute silence before the walk commences.

There will be a £1 a hound collection at the start of the walk and all proceeds go to Retired Greyhounds South Lakes.

We will be serving refreshments including tea/coffee and cakes from the RGSL van after the walk, and a variety of goods will be for sale including Christmas and other greeting cards, coats, fleeces and rain macs in sizes 18" to 32", snoods, martingale collars, leads, the new 2024 Greyhound Calendars, Raffle Tickets, and much, much more.

Normal rules apply for the group walks - this is a walk for sighthounds only and please be aware that some hounds attending can be nervous and not used to meeting other breeds of dogs. If you have  a nervous hound please ensure it’s muzzled and please keep all hounds on the lead at all times. Dog waste to be bagged and responsibly disposed of.
