FLEXOR TENOTOMY FOR THE TREATMENT OF CORNS

The highly acclaimed Dr. Mike Guilliard of Nantwich in Cheshire who operated on Nessie for the corns on her feet says “Corns are caused, as in humans, by repeated mechanical trauma or pressure on the pad. They are definitely not caused by a virus or by foreign body penetration. If that pressure is reduced the corn will grow out and disappear.”
Using a procedure called Flexor Tenotomy at the back of the foot the greyhound walks differently and the corn disappears. Nessie is now a happy playful girl who enjoys her walks because she is no longer in pain. Dr. Mike Guilliard has kindly provided Liz Dodd from Highgate Veterinary Clinic with the procedure, and she is now able to offer it as one of their services at their clinic in Kendal, Cumbria.
