First Aid for dogs workshop

Thank you everyone who assisted in the organising and running of the First Aid Workshop on the morning of the 13th July 2024, along with all those who attended. 19 people took part with their greyhounds and 2 Labradors and the feedback we received was excellent.
Liz Dodd and Claire Harris from Highgate Vets, Kendal ran what was a very structured and informative session with some new things included since the one last year. The photo above was taken while everyone practiced how to bandage a bleeding ear to avoid blood spreading everywhere when the dog shook it’s head until you got it to the vet. They learnt what to do, and what not to do to help the vet once the dog was in the surgery.
Lots of things were available for sale during the coffee break and after it finished, including first aid items, raffle tickets and our 2025 calendar. We are pleased to announce we raised £595.60 so can we please thank all those there today for making the session so successful.
