CHANGE OF SUNDAY’S WALK LOCATION

SUNDAY 15th OCTOBER 2023 -
***
CHANGE OF WALK LOCATION TO HEYSHAM VILLAGE ***

Gina Hodgson is going to be at the Battery car park on Morecambe Promenade to meet anyone who doesn’t see this update.

This change of location for Sunday’s walk is due to a clash with St John’s Hospice charity colour dash, which was postponed from last week due to bad weather. Had this not happened there wouldn’t have been a clash.
Our walk will now start from Heysham Village at  the usual time of 11:00.

The meeting point is the carpark is on Barrows Lane (Behind the cricket club) - LA3 2RJ.

 Here is a precise what3words address - ///bride.lovely.march
https://w3w.co/bride.lovely.march

This is a flat “there and back” walk of approximately 2 miles along the promenade towards Morecambe with beautiful views across The Bay.

This is a fascinating part of Heysham and there is a National Trust app you can download to use whilst visiting the site, which  includes a guided audio tour of St Patrick’s Church and Half Moon Bay - http://goo.gl/aetxON

Toilets are currently closed, but there is a toilet available at The Royal Pub just opposite the car park.

There will be a £1 a hound collection at the start of the walk and all proceeds go to Retired Greyhounds South Lakes.

The RGSL van will be present with a variety of goods for sale including Christmas and other greeting cards, coats, fleeces and rain macs in sizes 18" to 32", snoods, martingale collars, leads, the new 2024 Greyhound Calendar, Raffle Tickets, and much, much more.

We will be serving tea/coffee and cakes from the van after the walk.

Normal rules apply for the group walks - this is a walk for sighthounds only and please be aware that some hounds attending can be nervous and not used to meeting other breeds of dogs. If you have  a nervous hound please ensure it’s muzzled and please keep all hounds on the lead at all times. Dog waste to be bagged and responsibly disposed of.
