This evening the vet phoned to say the results had come back from the laboratory and yes, Boycie has osteosarcoma and it seems quite aggressive. With no further treatment he’ll have about 6 months, but if he has chemo we are told it could be 12 to 18 months. With Boycie being so young, he’s such a lovely dog and he’s done so well up until now we want to give him a chance. I know 12 to 18 months doesn’t sound long in our lives, but it is quite a while for a dog. His treatment is being assigned to a specialist who will provide all the medication and advice needed for our vet to carry out his treatment.
I appreciate some of you may disagree with chemotherapy, but we want to give him and his foster family as much quality time together as we can. May we thank everyone for donating towards his veterinary care to date and hope more of our greyhound ‘friends’ can help us further. Please help us and click on the ‘donate’ button. Thank you.
