13th April 2025 Silverdale Walk

Walks are for sighthounds only, and please be aware some attending can be nervous and not used to meeting other breeds of dogs. If you have a nervous dog please ensure it’s muzzled, and please keep all dogs on the lead at all times. There are many people behind the scenes making these walks a success - it’s a massive team effort, so come and join us - everyone welcome.

Starts at 11:00 hours and meeting at the SILVER SAPLING CAMPSITE, Park Road, Silverdale, Nr. Carnforth LA5 0UJ. For accurate location please use What Three Words - ///fractions.skill.tests https://w3w.co/fractions.skill.tests

The short walk is around Eaves Woods (National Trust) with a longer walk option up to the Pepperpot. It will be £2 per car for parking on the day which will be donated to the Guides Charity who own the campsite.

Following the walk we will serve refreshments (tea/coffee/cake) and the RGSL mobile shop will be selling an assortment of goodies including handmade Birthday / Greeting cards, outdoor coats, fleeces and rain macs in sizes 18" to 32", snoods, martingale collars, leads, harnesses, high-viz items, human clothing , the rummage boxes and much, much more. If you want to buy something specific or need a bag of Time20 please let Jenny know so she can ensure it’s on the van - we can’t bring everything.

Silver Sapling Campsite Directions - Travelling by Car:

1. From M6 J35 turn left off the motorway if traveling from the south and take 3rd exit off the motorway if traveling from north.
2. Then at next roundabout (Pine Lake Roundabout) turn right following the signs for Milnthorpe.
3. After 2.5 miles turn left off the A6 at Nineteen Acre Lane, following signs for Yealand Redmayne & Silverdale (traveling South on A6 it is signposted Yealand Redmayne & Leighton Moss).
4. At the first T-junction turn right for Silverdale & Leighton Moss (Silverdale Rd).
5. At next T-junction turn right (nr. Golf Club) for Silverdale & Arnside (Red Bridge).
6. At next junction turn left for Silverdale Village.
7.Entrance to field is 100 meters on Right just after National Trust Eves Wood car park.

Dog waste to be bagged and responsibly disposed of - - - - this is a popular walking spot.
